Think back to when you were younger. What was your favorite fairy tale as a child?

Was there one story in particular that you loved to read over and over again? Why did you like it so much?

Explain.

  1. My favourite childhood fairy tale was “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. I enjoyed the fact that there were three bears who went out in the woods and while they were out a little girl long blonde braids was taken by storm as curiosity dragged her into the bear’s house. I would get a little scared as Goldilocks entered the house but the rest was amazing to me. My favourite part was always when she tried to eat the bear’s porridge. “The first bowl was much too hot, the second bowl was much too cold but the third bowl was just right.” Goldilocks taught me a valuable lesson. “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” is my favourite childhood fairy tale without a doubt.

  2. “Rumpelstiltskin” was my absolute favorite fairy tale story. I enjoyed the character of Rumpelstiltskin he fascinated me. Although he was a greedy little dwarf I thought it was amazing how he could turn straw into gold. I felt bad for the miller's daughter who was forced to spin straw into gold because her father was not able to pay the taxes of the kingdom. “Rumpelstiltskin” Is and forever has been my favorite fairy tail story.

  3. The three little pigs
The three little pigs was my favourite book when I was little because it was a life lesson book and I like lessons. I remember loving to say:”I will huff and puff and blow this house down!!!” I think that the moral of that story is that if you want success you have to work hard. Like when the last pig had a brick house so the big bad wolf was not able to blow it down like the straw house and the sticks. Since the third pig took the time to make the house with sturdy materials it was harder to knock down. And that is why the three little pigs was my favourite childhood fairytale.

  4. The Little Mermaid,
When i was young, i would read fairy tales such as the little mermaid. I was in LOVE with mermaids! It was probably one of my favourite fairy tales of them all. I wanted to be a mermaid, my family would support me and would play mermaids with me it was super fun! I still wanted tone a mermaid.... but after a while I figured out they weren't real. I was devastated. But it made me happy that I would think i was a mermaid. Looking back from today the real reason that i love this book, is because it gives me hope and and little girls and boys hope too that they would become a mermaid someday too.
And this is why The Little Mermaid is my favourite childhood fairytale.

    4. yes that was a great movie but i don't think it was a fairy tale i think it was a Disney original like frozen. also I have dreams about losing my voice and they are scary, there's not even vibrations in my dreams, she must be tough.

  5. I loved the three little bear, because I thought it was really funny when the big bad wolf burnt his butt when he went inside the chimney. But I never knew why and how one of the pigs build the house out of straws. I loved the book also because when my mom read the part when the wolf blows down the house to me I would act like the wolf and blow air out of my mouth. But mostly it was because I read mostly Chinese fairy-tale at my house. So that is why The Three Little Pigs.

  6. One of my favorite children's stories, this is indeed a tough one. But I have to say the one that I enjoyed most would have to be The Twelve Dancing Princesses. It was a story that made me use my imagination to the max. From the magical ballet slippers each princesses was given to the gold and silver leaves. I loved the simple mystery the Brother's Grimm had created, why were their shoes so worn out by morning? So many had tried to find out yet had lost their lives. I have to say the reason why I love this story the most is because there is a version of an underdog.Someone who was not thought to be someone who could find out. This person was an old soldier who could not serve in battle any more wanted to give it a shot. I loved that they had incorporated a mysterious old woman who helped him.
I thought it was quite sneaky of the princesses to try and "poison" him by giving him the wine. Of course he only pretended to fall asleep. The amount of detail in the story was amazing, and no Barbie Movie could ever live up to the magical story of these mischievous princesses who just love to dance.
It incorporated humor, mystery and a bit of a tragic (no offense all those guys who were decapitated). This is why The Twelve Dancing Princesses is my absolute favorite fairy tale.

  7. My favourite fairy-tale as a child was Cinderella,
She always brought the person who i really am i love how kind and loyal to everyone she is the one of a kind!! When i was younger i always wanted to be a princess but i never knew which one but as soon as i saw the movies and read the books i knew that Cinderella was my princess.
I realized that me and her have something in common,we both have evil stepsisters!! I realize now while i am writing this i go back to when i was a child on Halloween with my Cinderella gown walking on the steps entering the royal ball. I am sort of past all those fairy-tales but i will never forget the beautiful princess i knew.

    The End:)

  8. when I was little fairy tales were my life, i loved all of the fairy tales. I liked it especially when my mom or dad used to read them to me. When i got a bit older all of the movies to these fairy tales came out and i eventually watched them all. there is one particular fairy tales that stood out for me it was the Chronicles of Narnia. The idea of four super cool children being able to go to a magical land through a wardrobe was so intriguing for me. I still try to get through my dads wardrobe, to see whats on the other side. I guess i really just liked the idea of these magical creatures that live in such a beautiful magical land, such as fawns, giants, talking animals and more. There is just a magical side to me where anything is possible. - seeing isn`t believing, believing is seeing. i always go by that and i guess that`s what makes the chronicles of Narnia so special to me.

  9. When I was really young, I usually liked to read Scooby Doo over and over again but, if I was to pick one of the many fairy tales i think i would pick Jack and the Beanstalk. Why? One of the reasons is because it shows that one decision can change your whole future. If you know the story of Jack and Beanstalk you would know that if Jack actually sold the cow for money and not for “Magic” beans, he would have only got a few measly coins and not a beanstalk that would lead him to endless treasure (The Goose that lays Golden eggs) at the giant's house. One decision changed his whole life!

    Thanks for reading!

  10. my favorite book as a kid was hard to decide, but I settled on The Little Red Riding Hood. This is my favorite because there's a bit of mystery to it in the way that the reader doesn't know the real ending. Because according to legend, the original had no hunter and the grandma and the little red riding hood died. In the newer version, the hunter shoots the wolf and the little red riding hood and the grandma somehow "come out" of the wolf's stomach. And in the kid-friendly version, the grandma hid in the closet, the little red riding hood was never eaten, and the hunter just "scares" the wolf away like in the three bears with goldilocks. I've noticed that a lot of traditional kids' tales have morals along the lines of not talking to strangers and staying out of forests. My actual favorite VERSION of the story is probably the version where the wolf is shot and grandma and the little red riding hood come out okay.

  11. My favorite fairy tale was one that i never actually read or saw when I was a kid and i always just had a knack for loving it. It was snow white and the seven dwarves. I grew up only watching beauty and the beast and that got boring quickly. Snow white just felt so magical hearing about the mirror and all that stuff. When you look back at every fairy tale movie there's always that big detail about snow white or the mirror or the queen, why, because it and sleeping beauty are such amazing stories that they’re so good to use as the base of a movie or a book.

  13. When I was younger my favorite fairy tale was the three little pigs. I liked that story mostly because my mom would pretend she was the wolf and she would huff and puff and I would laugh. But if I had to say why I liked it now it's because it shows that it takes hard work to become successful. Like the first two pigs made it out of straw and sticks but the wolf blew it down. Then the last pig made it out of bricks and the wolf couldn't blow it down and the pig was successful after the first two houses.

  14. My favorite fairy tale as a kid was Thumbelina because it had mythical creatures such as fairies, talking animals and more. It had many topics to the story. It was happy, sad, exciting, angry and much much more. It was very adventurous and I used to watch the movie all the time. It is about a lady who wishes for a child and the old lady who she went to ask gave her a flower. She nurtured it and one day when it opened, a girl the size of a thumb was born and she called her Thumbelina.
I hope you liked it too!

  15. My favorite fairy tale as a child was the three little pigs. I found it funny that two of the pigs were really lazy and built there houses out of sticks and hay. It's also funny how the wolf burnt to death by the big soup pot. I find that if you want to build a proper house, you should never get lazy.
I hope people like my blog.

  16. Fairy Tales, Fairy Tales, Fairy Tales. The good old classics. My favourite Fairy Tale when I was younger is definitely the one and only Little Red Riding Hood. This is the story that was told to me the most. In the story, the main characters are Little Red Riding Hood and the big bad wolf. Some people say the grandma, but I think the author was trying to really focus on the others. My favourite part in the story was when Little Red Riding Hood came into the house and saw the wolf dressed up in her Grandma’s clothes. I laughed so hard at the time. After my parents finished the story, they used tell us to respect everyone and to never steal. As you can see, The Little Red Riding Hood is my favourite Fairy Tale. I highly recommend this Fairy Tale to you.

  17. My favourite fairy tale that I ever read was “The Three Little Pigs”. I think the main reason I loved this story so much was because it was different from other fairy tales that I read. My favourite part was always the part where the wolf would try and go down the chimney to get to the pigs but would get burnt instead. I guess that’s the main reason my mind is so twisted!!( Haha! :p) I also loved when the wolf would blow down the houses, (yet another reason my mind is messed up!) because it would always be so suspenseful and exciting! I guess I just loved the hype, which explains my choice of movies! Other parts that I really liked include: when the wolf ran away crying (seriously I think there’s something wrong with me!) because it was like a validation that the pigs beat the wolf. Then there was the part of the book when the oldest brother/pig would build his house out of brick. This was one of my favourite parts because when I stopped reading this book I was about 5 or 6 and both of my brothers had been born by now, so I kind of felt like I related to the oldest brother/pig. Its like the youngest wasn’t as smart as the his two older brothers so he thought that straw would work. (Obviously it didn’t!) Then, there was the middle brother/pig. He realized that straw wasn’t the strongest choice so he went with something stronger wood, but unfortunately his house didn’t survive. Finally there was the oldest brother/pig. He was the smartest out of all of them because he was older, implying that the oldest was usually smartest. So when his house didn’t break because it was brick I felt like I was him. Like my brothers would listen to me hen they made mistakes, implying that I knew more than them, which means that I was smarter than them. That’s why I like this story. ( I think this blog post just ended up me coming out as egomaniac! Help? HAHA just kidding!! But actually…help.)

  18. My favorite fairy tale of all time has to be enchanted. Enchanted was kind of a mix between all different fairy tales and that is why I think I loved it so much. But also another main reason I liked it so much is because of how funny it was. I don't how many times I watched it as a kid but I know it was more than I can count. I think my favorite part was when she came into the real world, she doesn't know anything and sees this guy and falls in love with him. Suddenly now she can't stop following him. After of course there has to be a bad part to every fairy tale, so that’s why the evil witch has decided to come and try to kill her (which kind of happens in every fairy tale) Of course she didn’t manage to kill her but you aren’t supposed to figure that out at the end. But good thing it ended in a happily ever after. So that is why Enchanted is my all time favorite fairy tale.

  19. My favorite childhood story was definitely Hansel and Gretel. I remember reading the book over and over again, and when i didn't have the book my parents would just tell it to me when i couldn't fall asleep. This story reminds me of me and my sister going on for an adventure and getting lost in a big forest. This also kind of scared me so that now when I go to my cottage in Vermont I don't run out in the massive forests because I'm scared of either getting lost or getting shot by someone hunting for animals. But this still is my favorite book and I will never forgot reading this book over and over again.

  20. I think my favourite childhood fairy-tale has to be Little Red Riding Hood. This is a story about a girl who lives with her mom and dad, and loves her grandmother who lives on the other side of a forest. She is Little Red Riding Hood because her grandmother gave her a dress that is red that she wears all the time. One day her grandmother gets sick so she packs a cake and butter to take to her grandmother. On the way, she picks strawberries and flowers for her grandmother without keeping track of time. After a while she runs into a wolf who pretends to be friendly and then runs to her grandma’s house, but she gets there too late. The wolf is at her grandmas and her grandma is hiding in a closet. When Little Red Riding Hood gets there, she calls her father who comes and kills the wolf. I love this story because I can read it over and over again without getting bored. I think Little Red Riding Hood was smart to call her father to come and help her. It teaches me to always ask for help when I need it and not to be afraid. I love this story so much, I had so much fun reading the story as a young child.

  21. When I was younger I really enjoyed the story of the three little pigs. I loved the storyline and how it was about animals. Who ever was reading the book to me really made the book come to life and i think that was a big part about why i loved it so much. The two parts I liked the most are when the wolf huffs and puffs and blows the houses down. My other favourite part is that the last pig with the brick house helped his two siblings hide from the wolf. I really liked this part because they all worked together and conquered a common enemy.

  23. My favorite fairy tale growing up was snow white. I liked snow white because of where and who it took place with. My favorite part of who was all the dwarf parts was when the dwarfs would walk through the woods and sing the song whistle how we work. What I like about the setting was how they described it in the fairy tales they made it sound so beautiful and then you would turn to the pages where their pictures of the forest.
