Blog 10 - Wednesday, October 19, 2016

The Montreal Canadiens hockey team had their home opener on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

They beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0

What a great way to start the season.

Are you a hockey fan? How do you feel the Canadiens will do this year?

Last year, NO Canadian team even made the playoffs.  Will that repeat this year?

Explain.

  1. I am a hockey fan and I thought that the game was pretty amazing and impressive. I actually think that the Montreal Canadians might actually make the play offs this year they haven't gotten the Stanley cup in a while. I always watch hockey with my Dad but he left for a trip on the 18th so I watched it with my brother. We invented hockey and sometimes we have sucky teams like the Toronto Maple Leaves. That's another thing Québec invented maple syrup not Ontario.

    1. Your blog was very funny! I am not such a big hockey fan like you but sometimes I enjoy it. I mainly watch the playoffs. Great blog!

    2. Your blog is great but I still think that the Canadians has a higher chance to not make it to the playoff then going to the playoffs.

  2. I think this year the habs will get to the playoffs, I guess last year was pretty unlucky but that's ok we will get it back this year. I watch hockey all the time even if it's no the habs because it's such a great game that I play myself. And this weekend I'm going to be a person that goes around the ice with the Canadian flag!!!:)

  3. I am not a hockey fan. I feel that they might have a chance and maybe not have a chance because Price has a flu and P.K Suban is gone but they did amazing job on defeating the penguins and that is why I think they might have a chance. I would say that the Canadians won't make the playoff. But you never know. That is only an opinion.

  5. I would definitely not consider myself a hockey maniac. Although i don't play or anything like that, i still enjoy the sport because i love pretty much all sports. I clearly don't follow all of the news because i had no idea pk was gone... I think that there is definitely a pretty good chance that they make playoffs because sometimes you could be surprised that the underdogs come through and shock everyone. It would be really nice to win but obviously you can always win everything(...well you can but u understand what i mean) i wish a great season to the habs and hope that they could win the stanly sup this year!!

  6. I am not a hockey. I repeat: NOT A HOCKEY PERSON. Wow, shocking, I know! Well not really if you have been my friend for a while! I mean, hey, if its an important hockey game though, then yes, I’m all about the playoffs and all that stuff. I think the Canadiens will get pretty far this year, but won’t win the playoffs. They just traded P.K. SUBBAN FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!!!!!! Apparently that’s a good thing, (???) because they traded him for this guy named Weber Shea or Shea Weber, and he’s supposed to be a lot better than P.K. Subban! I think at least one or two Canadian teams will get into the playoffs this year, last year was probably just a bad year!

  7. Well, I'm not a hockey maniac but I do enjoy to watch the game every once in a while. It's a fascinating sport. I think the habs will do fine this year, just so long as they don't over think things and they play the game fairly. Any team can go far in the NHL just so long as they work together, and follow the rules. Last year no Canadian teams made it to playoffs, that was a disappointment. But I think that if they focus on the cup and really stay to an organized schedule they can make it. Just because we didn't make last year, does not mean that the USA was better. It just means that there are always things we need to work on.

  8. I love hockey and I am totally all for the HABS(go habs go)!! I am totally confident that the Canadians will get to the playoffs and there's no doubt about it. My cousin, uncle and aunt live in Boston(boo Boston!) and there even HABS fans and they totally are not for Boston. I doubt the maple leafs are going to make it, but I'm, pretty sure Vancouver, Ottawa and of course Habs are going to make. I HAVE A GOOD FEELING ABOUT THIS YEAR!!!!! I can see it now 2017 champion NHL Montreal Canadians!!

  9. I’m not that into hockey but I've heard my fair share of bad things about them. First of the canadiens played terribly last year because one person wasn’t there the whole season, that means the team is particularly more fragile than most. I’m sorry for all those fanatics out there but The montreal canadiens aren’t as good as they used to be and I don’t think they’ll do good this season. they get pumped up about everything and then poof, they have a bad game and disappoints the fans, And I’m still sorry because some people don’t even go to the games because of how bad the fans act, who physically can’t watch it when their team is losing and tbh they probably don’t even watch half of the game because of that cause the Canadiens are baaaaaad.

If this has offended you than I have done my job.😁😊

    Thank you

  10. Hockey. Nah...not really my thing. But, I do enjoy it sometimes. When I was younger or even now actually, I was never really a big hockey fan. Mainly the only time I watch hockey is when the playoffs are going on. Usually in every sport, the playoffs is the time the most exciting during the year. Anyways, I do feel some faith in the Canadiens this year. I think they could bring it together and win it. They might not win it but I think they could at least make the playoffs. In the end, I sort of feel strongly about the Canadiens this year.

  11. I am a super hockey fan!! I love watching the Montreal Canadiens!! I think they will do great! They are on a role, they might of had there ups and downs but they are going to get out there and make it to the playoffs! Especially now since they have a healthy Carey Price! Price makes a really big difference and when you are talking canadien teams,we got Austin Mathews and Conner McDavid we are talking the best players!! That's a great way to step up Canada's game.

  12. I HATE hockey i mean i would rather be partners with Mathew Davis than watch hockey. I didn't watch the game so i don't know if they will make the playoffs the only two names i know are PK Suban (but he was traded ) and Carry Price so i have no clue what will happen i heard they did bad last year so im guessing they will suck again this year.

  13. I am a huge hockey fan and play hockey myself. I think the Canadiens will do great this year! I think that this year there will be more than a few Canadian teams in the playoffs. When they make the play offs I will be so happy and even happier when they win the Stanley cup. So exited for all the hickey this year!

  14. I personally strongly dis like Montreal Canadiens, I'm a super hockey fanatic but I just don't like the habs. In fact the Pittsburgh penguins are my favourite hockey team! Im very disappointed that Pittsburgh lost considering Pittsburgh won the Stanley cup this year. It's always big rivalry at home because my whole family loves likes the Canadiens, sometimes it gets interesting because of the rivalries. I hope Pittsburgh takes the Stanley cup next year, and in behalf of all you Montreal Canadiens fans in mr katz class "go habs go".

  15. I am definitely not a hockey person. I probably wouldn’t even be able to name 5 hockey players on the team, it’s just not my thing. I had no idea that no Canadian teams made it to the playoffs. I really hope that this year is a better year for us, and so far, I think we are doing well. GO HABS GO!!

  16. I am not the biggest hockey fan but I do watch it sometimes. I think last year was horrible! But I have a feeling that they will do better. My prediction is that the habs will make it to the 3rd round of playoffs then lose. I also predict that my favorite player Brendan Gallagher will score 24 goals and have 36 assists.

  17. Yeah, last year was NOT a very good year for the Canadians especially for the Habs. I think the overall morale was very low last year because Carry Price, basically the signature of the Montreal Canadiens. Was injured and spent most of the season not playing. Im not saying that the other goalie was bad I'm just saying that without the main signature of the team we did not play as well in my opinion.

  18. I am not a hockey fan. I dislike playing the sport , or even watching it. But from what I heard and read, the Canadiens will make the playoffs this season. Carey Price is back from an injured knee and from the flu. Even though they don't have P.K. Subban, they have Shea Weber, who is an amazing player.

  19. Hockey? Eww I'm not a hockey fan! I tried watching it and it didn't go too well. I just doesn't appeal to me. I'm always updated on hockey news because some people in my house LOVE IT. It's great that the habs are doing good this year it's just I really don't care. I'd much rather watch Shane Dawson's YouTube videos instead.

  20. I am a huge hockey fan. I've been playing hockey since I was three and I am currently playing for a team. Unfortunately I was not able to watch that game because I was studying for the midsummer nights dream test but I think that that win was just luck because Pittsburgh is one of the best teams in the league. This year I think that the Canadians wont make the playoffs because they traded their best player.

  21. I wouldn’t call myself person who constantly watches hockey but I do tune in on some games. I think the Montreal Canadians will at least make it to the playoffs since we do have Carey Price. But I still can’t believe that they took P.K Suban off the team although Shea Weber is pretty good. I do think that things will change this year and hopefully at least one Canadian team makes it.

  22. I am peasonally not a hockey fan so can't really predict if they will do bad or not. I even thought I don't like hockey or watch hockey I hear all about it. So even if I never seen a game I don't think the habs are going to make the playoffs because no Canadian team did last year. Since they are team though I hope they to really well.

  23. I think the Canadians will stand a chance for the stanley cup finals. (Finally) The GM of the Canadians made a good decision by drafting almost everyone of their players, to get new ones. I am a massive hockey fan, and I'm glad to see the Canadians do well again. Last year I was starting to not like the Canadians, because they were super over rated. Now, there number one in the Atlantic Division. That's pretty amazing!
