“Man, this really sucks. I had a daughter, and all I wanted her to do was to marry a handsome, rich and cool dude named Demetrius. But nooo, She wanted to marry this punk named Lysander. Even the Duke sided with me, but then something happened in the forest where Lysander and Hermia ran off to and now Demetrius likes the wrong girl! And MY Hermia likes Lysander, and the Duke allows it! Now that Hermia married to Lysander, she left me! And now I am all alone and by myself. I (Supposedly, it does not say he does in the book) have know wife or daughter! Maybe now I have to live on the streets or try to trick an unsuspecting person in the marrying me! “=(

DeleteIf I were Egeus even though I did not live happily ever after I would try and suck it up just for the sake of the happiness of my daughter. I would try and accept the fact even though it might annoy me. If my daughters happy and she's not endanger then I'm happy. But knowing Shakespear i think that the real Egeus probably would have taken extreme measures such as things like killing his daughter as punishment in my opinion that's way to extreme to even think about, well this is what I would do

DeleteThis is so unfair! All I wanted was for my daughter to have a good life with a good man. But, she decided to disobey me and go off with Lysander. I didn't want her to be poor with Lysander, I wanted her to be rich and have a handsome and nice husband. PS: Demetrius. So, I thought that if Hermia will not listen to me, love me or even appreciate me, then what is the point of having a daughter. So, I was going to kill her. And now, look where I am. Aloneš.

Hermia is my daughter and I am in charge of her until she is eighteen.(unless the rules are different back then) Why canĆØt she spend the rest of her life with Demetrius. He is such a greater man for Hermia. Hermia, please listen to me. All I want for you is to have a great life with Demetrius. You will be rich and have a strong and handsome man. Oh...Wait. DeleteGreat blog. I found it funny at the end when you said that you would congratulate Hermia even though that is not an Egeus move.
DeleteIf I were in Egeus's place I would feel angry and disappointed, after all Hermia is my daughter and I want the best for her. Sometimes you have to let it go but I don't think he is, fathers shouldn't give up on there daughters. I know that Egeus is going to find a way to fix this problem he has between Lysander, Lysander is better than Demetrius, Demetrius is even worse than him. After the way he treats Helena. I don't think he and the duke are going to be great friends anymore because the duke just let it slip, I kind of feel bad for Egeus because he doesn't live happily ever after he is an old man and I would say something like a retired father. At the same time I am happy for the 4 lovers at the end they all got what they want. Too bad Egeus!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that Egeus was a bad man but he was also wrong and dumb. I would have reminded Theseus that Hermia had to make a choice at the end. He still would have lost anyway. Plus he is still lonely and dosen't have anyone to make out with and have more kids that he can torture.

Today was awful! Hermia my own daughter refuses to follow my commands. She should treat me as a god. But due to her ugly lover Lysander she won't marry a gentleman Demetrius. I don't know what's wrong with her but I am done with her nonsense. If she does not obey my commands I will have the Duke execute her!

The Duke is letting Hermia get married to Lysander! Is he out of his mind! I can't believe this the reception is going on now. I am not ok with this. I will have to have a word with him after the wedding. This nonsense must end. Hermia will marry Demetrius.

I think Hermia should have been hung the day I went to the Duke to complain about . I just wanted the best for her, and this is what she repays me, living with some lanky creature. I wanted her to have a rich, wealthy and awesome life, but NOOO. I bet Lysander will run away from Hermia the first chance he gets, then I would be able to say I TOLD YOU SO. ReplyDeleteI am writing to you because I need someone to talk to and I can’t think of anyone who would actually care and listen to what I have to say. Let me start off by saying that I love my daughter. Although I can’t say she ever makes good decisions, she is still my daughter. The worst thing she has ever done happened today. SHE MARRIED LYSANDER. Can you believe this? I told her that he was not a good man, and that Demetrius was much better, but did she listen to me? NOPE!! I don’t know who she thinks she is, ignoring me and making big decisions on her own. I don’t think there is any point of me chasing her down, but when she comes crying to me, telling me that Lysander is a bad man, I am going to tell her that I warned her and that she didn’t want my help, so I am going to make her life living hell. #I’ll Show You Who’s Boss.

He is a perfectly fine man, Lysander has skimpy arms and weak legs. No man meant to be my son in law. Her mother would never approve. I was imagining me tearing up and joyful at her wedding seeing Hermia and Demetrius! But no I was very upset and mad seeing Lysander there with my daughter. Why does theseus agree with the couple, she’s my child and my child only.Maybe I can use a juice, a love-in-idleness juice could solve everything (Dramatic music plays)
