  1. The best piece of advice I've ever gotten was probably when I was told that my grades won't get worse, only better. Because I thought it would only get harder. But I didn't realise that I would just get used to it after a while. Honestly I can't remember the best piece of advice I got, so I just wrote what I wanted to write on the PollEv site. Also, first comment yay

  2. The best piece of advice I have gotten, is from my mother. I had been going through some tough times at school and I was nervous us for high school. She had told me, "Don't give them a reason to complain". This advice has helped me because if I would try my hardest, and follow instructions, then there would be no reason for anyone to say, "You did this wrong!" or "Go do it again". By following instructions, it will help you succeed. That is how this advice has helped me, and it continues to this day. I am able to stay on track, organized and keep my marks up.

  3. i think the best piece of advice that i received before the school year started was to stay organized. (another one was people saying how it was not that hard because elementary teachers were freaking out of how difficult and different it is) This advice helped a lot. I have a accordion binder and it helps put papers away for the right classes and is super great. If i was not as organized as I am today, i would have a lot of trouble being on time, getting homework, finding my papers easily and so on and so forth. This nugget of advice is extremely useful for any new students to any school.

  4. I think the best piece of advise I've gotten was from my father. I had LOTS of bullying problems at one of my elementary schools and it was really bringing me down and effecting my life. This girl was bullying my best friends and me, we were really sad. I had told my dad what had happened, he told me that I need to stand up for myself and my friends. He gave me tips on what to say and he brought my self confidence up to almost being fearless! Obviously there are going to be bullies or mean people at any school and they may never listen to your requests for them to stop but at least I learned to slow it down and stand up for me and my friends!

Thanks for reading! COMMENT DOWN BELOW⬇️⬇️⬇️

  5. I would say that one of the pieces of advice that I have ever received would be something my math teacher mr. Genge says: BEDMAS BEDMAS BEDMAS (Brackets, Exponents, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subraction). (Order of operation). Whenever I am stuck on a math problem (Which doesen't happen often) I repeat it: BEDMAS, BEDMAS, BEDMAS!!! It might not be the best advice ever but it is very useful.

  6. The best advice that I got would be from my dad he is always helping me and telling me never to give up,at the start of High School I wasn't doing too well and I thought I was going to fail TERM 1 but after he told me as long as I study and do my homework I could achieve anything and he was right,I got good grades in my report card. If you don't try your best and don't study then maybe things won't end up well. The advice that I am telling you guys is to try your hardest and NEVER GIVE UP!!

  7. The best piece of advice I have gotten, was probably right before I started high school. I was told that I should walk fast in the halls, focus on your work, and stay organized. This advice has probably been my savior so far! Before I had started coming to St Thomas, I didn’t think I would have to rush through the halls, mind you this was my thought process when it was just Sec 1, but I was sadly mistaken. The first day of actual school, the WHOLE school,...let’s just say I wasn’t not stressed! As for staying organized, and focused, I have definitely managed to work my own rhythm into this music! All in all, I would definitely say that this advice has helped me.

  8. The only advice or something that helps me was from my sister. ... she told me that you can't get back up without falling down first..... I love her so much she told me that the first time I ever tried to compete in intercity soccer all the other kids had done it for a year or two but it was my first time I was 8 and I Wanted to quit so bad I thought that the other kids would make fun of me but my sister being herself came and told me that I should never quit and that she would break my arm if I didn't go back on the field. She told me that advice and I never forget it because now I'm turning 13 and it's my 5th year with the A team they are my family and I never would have met the most amazing people I have ever known without my sister (I love Ya Chelsea and Jujube).

  9. My best piece of advice that I've ever received is when my dad told me to keep my head up, never down. That was before my first hockey game. It's saved my life multiple times when people have come right at me and try to hit me, and I thank him for that and he still tells me that evry game and practice.

  10. The best piece of advice I ever got was to never watch Spongebob and see him brushing his eyes and trying it. I learned that from experience. Actually, my brother did. He tried brushing his eyes one day and trust me, it did NOT end well. Attention to kids who are reading this, never try this at home. NEVER!!!!

  11. The best advice I have received was from my friend Matthew Cartmill who said "Don't Stop in the middle of the game" He yelled it to me while I was playing Mario Kart when I was in grade 2. He ment it about the game but it's true. Don't stop in the middle of something your doing you need to finish for yourself. It wasn't much of advice but now I can't help but picture myself playing Mario kart in the middle of doing something difficult. Thanks Matthew😄

  12. The best piece of advice. That's a hard one to remember. Well, my grandpa did say something about High School. He said that there will be bullies, more homework and its much bigger. And I found out one thing...HE WAS ACTUALLY RIGHT! But seriously. I don't think I have ever gotten some amazing advice that you could say to the whole world and all. I think the pieces of advice were all a few words but they were really good. Yesterday, my basketball coach told me after the game we won, "to never think your are good enough. You can always get better." I know it's not something big but it means a lot.

  13. The best piece of advice I got before the school yer was to try and remain calm and not get nervous. That has helped me in several situations except for a few. Like before a test or a presentation. I do tend to get nervous then. It has helped me though, like making new friends. And I really try not to get nervous very much, but sometimes it's hard when there is a test.

  14. The best piece of advice I've ever gotten was probably not to be to shocked about how much homework you get during high school, but of course being me I didn't listen and I was totally blind sided by the amount of homework. My sister always complained about the homework but I thought she was just over reacting but now I realized if anything she was not over reacting enough!

  15. The best piece of advice I ever got was not to get my hopes up. I should still be proud of myself and have goals for myself, but the have to be reasonable. I am good at a lot of things and that sometimes gives me too much pride and makes me expect a lot of myself. Then I don't reach my goal and I get a little upset with myself. It is good to understand what expectations you should have and which ones you shouldn't but every once in a while it is ok to get your hopes up.

  16. The best piece of advice I ever got was when I was in grade 6 last year. When these boys would tease me and bully me I would always have to dodge them or take them on myself. The advice that my grade 5 teacher Mme. Tadros told me it's great to be yourself stand up for yourself and always tell a teacher never do it on your own. That was after the day where we all got suspended in school was when they teased me and I went overboard with it and punched a guy in the face. Then I went to catch a bus then got flip from the back and got a leg broken. Now from that day on I remember what my french teacher told me but I can be dangerous I you get up my nerves. That advice Had helped me get through grade 6 but hasn't help me so far here in high school. Just telling you cough cough she was better than Mr. katz.

  17. The best peace of advice that I have ever received was in the summer before high school started. My brother who is currently in sec 5 told me to to stay organised and dont leave my homework or an upcoming project to the last minute. At first I thought I could slack off but I finally realized that he was right.

  18. Just like everyone else, yes I had received much advice before. Once piece of advice that my hockey coach told me a couple years ago, was a technique to improve my hockey shot. Yes, I won't lie, I was one of those kids who couldn't lift the puck. But at the time, any advice I would get wouldn't help me at all, I would just make things more complicated. Until finally, I got some advice from the assistant coach who told me to life my as well as roll the puck off the blade of the stick. A couple years later here am I ripping bar-down-skis every game I play!

  19. The best piece of advice that I have received is,it doesn't matter how the results turn out, as long as you did your best. Last year I had trouble doing french reading comprehensions. My parents saw me struggling and trying to work hard to receive a good grade. But always I wouldn't get what I hoped for and my parents said to me it doesn't matter about what the results are it just matters how hard or how much effort you put into it. Now for every test I try my best to try to receive the best marks possible.

  20. The best piece of advice I have ever received is to be myself and try my hardest. My mom always tells me to be myself and to make decisions for myself, not just copy other people. This was the best advice because I realise now how different in a bad way my life would be if my decisions were any different. People would never know the real me. Thank you mom!

  21. I can't pick from just one piece of advice because I've heard so many and they are all (mostly) helpful.

Ex: how to down a gross food, cover your nose or just go for it.
when There are always races or challenges or tests that I am scared to do,quickly, slowly, doesn't matter cause its easy.

That is mostly what I hear. But there is always this one piece of advice that is so funny.

    If you don't succeed
    lower your expectations

  22. The best advice that i have received is from my mom going into high school. She told me to make a homework folder. My mom got me a folder with eight pockets (one for each subject) so I don't have to lug home heavy binders, I just put all my worksheets in me homework folder and it's really easy to find. This is extremely useful and I would suggest it to anyone because i am very organized and less stressed about bringing stuff home.

  23. The best piece of advice I have ever received was when I about to go on stage for my first dance competition. I was so scared and there was this random girl who I had never seen before. Who was on a different team who looked about 17. She saw I was scared and told me to breathe in 5 times before I go on. She also asked if I had any pets I told her about my cat. So she said to pretend that everybody in the audience was my cat. I don't know if this would work on anybody else but I know it worked on me amazingly.

  24. My best advice was probably when I went to go watch a soccer game and my dad said not to eat so much junk food. I ended up eating so much I felt sick. BUT! Then next time I went to a soccer game I didn't eat so much junk food and I didn't feel sick. So....yeah! Thanks dad I ended up not being sick!
