I actually have never been to a circus before. I have seen pictures or videos or people talk about it but never a real circus. (with the clowns or whatever) Now that I think about it, if you count Cirque du Soleil hen yes, I have been to one. (I don<t know why I did not say that at the beginning. i go there every year actually and its super fun! The acts they have there are amazing. My favorite on is when they would swing up and then fall onto a big net. I do not know about the animal rights concerns because i have never seen animals in a circus.
I went to see a circus show when I was three years old. My favourite act was when people did acrobatics on elephant's backs. I do believe that the circus is closing because of animal right concerns. There are very big concerns about animal abuse and extinction in some very important species over the next 15 years. It bothers me greatly to see any animal in harm, hence why I go to "Safari Zoo Camp" In the summer. It is an educational camp near Toronto where I have learnt about animals that are endangered and other things. I am almost scared for the fate of some animals as they may go extinct very soon. I believe this is the reason the Ringling Bros. circus is closing after 146 years.
I used to go to the circus every year with my mom when I was younger. It was my sister and I’s favourite thing to do, and we would look forward going every year. My favourite act was always when a guy walked over a ladder wheel thing in the air. It would make me cringe so much because I am scared of heights, like my mom. I definitely think this circus is closing because of animal right concerns, and I think both that the animals are safe, and not being harmed, but also are being kept away from their natural habitats and families. In the end, I think it’s better to let animals be free.
Me, personally, I have never been to a circus before. But that doesn't mean I want to go! I find it really cool when people do flips and acrobat and although I have never seen this in person, I've hours of flips and cool stunts in the "YouTube" world. I don't know why the circus is shutting down, but if there was one reason I had to guess it would not be because of animal cruelty/rights. I would think that animals would be taken care of extra carefully, and to be trained performing cool stunts for people. I really think its sad that after almost 150 YEARS the circus is finally shutting down!
I have never been to the circus however if I were to go, I'm sure my favourite act would be the horses. I do feel that the circus is closing because of animal rights. Last year, I had to do a debate on whether or not circuses are the main reason of animal cruelty. After that, I do think that it is not right for animals to be doing handstands and jumping through hoops. Is that really what they were built to do? It is definitely not in their nature to such things.
Unfortunately I have never been to a circus before. I did hear that they are amazing! I wish I could've gone but circuses weren't near my area which was too bad. I've always loved how the animals would do all these amazing tricks and the acrobats will flip on all sorts of bars,I know so much about them because they will be all over the news. I think that the circus did close because of the animals. You have to treat the animals properly because sooner or later someone is going to find out, what I mean is if you don't treat the animals properly then you are not doing your job by taking care of them. I am really sad that they are closing after so long but you could still watch them on YouTube.
When I went to Disneyworld when I was 7 years old, I went to Cirque Du Soleil, but I don't remember it all that well. I think my favorite would have been the acrobatics on bars and making pyramids. I think it is animal rights but that's not all. I also think it might be because not many people go to the circus anymore because they watch it on Youtube and stuff.

I have been to 2 circuses. One of them I was to young to remember and the second one was the cirque de soleil. It was amazing!!!!!! My favorite act was probably the magic because I've always been upsesed with magic. I do not think it's because of the animals. I think it's because they were to old to do it anymore. Imagine being 146 years old and still doing the tightropes... Ha ha jk
I have never been to a circus, but I have always wanted to go see it. I would love to go see it because it looks and sounds so cool! Of course, circus’ are known for various acts, and especially the animals. If they are closing because of animal concerns, then I think that is definitely the right choice. Animals are animals and they still need to be taken care of, but if the closing of the “Ringling Bros” is completely unrelated to animals, then it’s most likely a financial issue of some sort.
I always went to the circus when I was little! I also went to cirque de soleil. My favorite part of any circus show is the flexible people that go on the bars or when they stack on top of each other or they do cool flexible moves. Even when I was a kid that used to be my favorite part. Yes,I think one of the reasons why the circus closed is because of animal rights also I think its because not as many people are going to circuses and more like cirque de soleil type of shows. No one I guess likes the traditional circuses.
I have never ever been to a circus but i have seen a lot on tv when i was 6 year i try to act like the director of a circus. I highly think that and accident happened between a human and a animal because some circus don't have there animals well trained before they have them do an act in front of a crowd.
I once I went to the Shriners circus when i was 4 years old. I wish I remembered more but I don't because I was so young. I am definately really sad that they are closing but i think that animal rights is most likely the right answer. Animals aren't arent humans and people in the circus just don't seem to understand this concept yet. Animals are being taken away from the wild and their families to go possibly get tortured in circus' just for our entertainment, like seriously are we humans that bored and desperate. I just went and watched a wideo about the circus and it was a lion and tigre act. The man the tigers and lion where in a cage all together. in one hand the man had a stick thing to point and in the other one he had a whip. :( I thought the act was very impressive but what really made me upset was when i saw the man whipping the animals. I looked at the comments and was even more upset. some of them say that it may look all nice in the show, but who knows what's happens behind the curtains. Animals are being starved whipped until they die and much more. It makes me so sad to even think about this. When i went to the circus they offered me to ride the elephant and i definately would want to but since i was young my parents made the desision for me of no. They didn't want me to go flying off and die and get smushed like a pancake...understandable. WARNING i am about to sound very rude but i am just passionate about the subject. IF GUNS ARE BANNED SO SHOUKD WHIPS. ANYONE WHO MISTREATS AN ANIMAL IS A TERRIBLE PERSON AND I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT. those ignorant circus workers who think it's a good idea to have animals trained to do something that isn't in their capability really need to slow down and think of the animals. They have feelings too you know. Bottom circus' should not be banned but only the animal parts. If you want to have a lady walk across a tightrope or a magician pull a quarter out of you at that's fine. let animals do their own thing and stop being cruel.
I don't really care that the Ringling Bros. Circus closed down or is closing down. I went with my brother grandmother and grandfather (my dad's parents) when we were in Florida. I have never been to a circus, mainly because my sister is TERRIFIED of clowns. When I was little I thought the circus was like Madagascar 3 where the animals loved it there. Unfortunately that's not the case... Animals are treated terribly! First of all they are born into captivity in a stressful environment. The tigers are whipped by the trainers so they will fear them into doing stunts. Poor elephants are getting beaten with bull hooks until they bleed in order to get them to do the splits and handstands. It's like if in the middle of ballet class the teacher starts whipping you until you do a proper stretch. It's crazy how poorly treated animals are I am completely against animal cruelty and I feel the circus not a place for animals.
I have never been to a circus so I cant really relate to this question, but I do think that animals should never be whipped or tortured for the amusement of people. This should stop and i do think that the reason why the circus closed is because of the animals.

I have never been to a circus before but I have always wanted to. If I were to go to a circus I think my favorite act would be when they walk on the tight rope. I don't know how they do it it just amazes me!
I honestly don't understand how they think that they are being cruel to the animals there. They train them they don't hurt them. I don't think the circus is closing due to the animal concerns I think they just got tired because they were open for 146 years!
I have never been to a circus show from what I can remember nor do I ever want to go to one. That type of stuff doesn't appeal to me. I didn't hear about the closing of this circus so I truly don't know but if something happend with the animals. I guess it is possible that is why they are closing.
I’ve heard so much good things about circuses but I still can’t bring myself away from the fact that these people are presenting mistreated animals to the public and expecting them to be amused. It’s exactly like if we had a slave held back in a cage and set him free, expecting the audience to laugh at the struggle of him getting up while we whip them back down to the floor.. If that sentence disturbed you even a little bit you are a 21st century human who can take a stand against animal abuse. This type of amusement was meant for the 17 hundreds. I have never been to a circus, but I've always wanted to go. I don't have any fear of clowns whatsoever except for ones that are supposed to be scary (halloween clowns). I have heard of the ringing bros. before. Too bad they're closing. I think the circus is closing partly because of animals, but then again, circuses can be run without animals…so I'm not sure. But I do think that circuses do do certain things to animals against their wills.

DeleteAmazing blog, what do you think is the animal that is abused or hurt the most? The elephant?
DeleteElephants, poodles even lions and tigers are all equally abused for our entertainment. Mostly the elephant though.
DeleteGreat blog, I agree that animals should definitely NOT be harmed.

I have heard of the ringing bros. before. Too bad they're closing. I think the circus is closing partly because of animals, but then again, circuses can be run without animals…so I'm not sure. But I do think that circuses do do certain things to animals against their wills.
