  1. The trial was....... AMAZING!!! I loved the decorations and the speeches especially the food it was delicious! It was so fun when we got dressed up in our costume, I felt like I was a little kid again on Halloween. Nothing had to be improve everything was PERFECT! What I will always remember about this trial is the food and everyone getting together dressing as your character and just saying your perspective of Ulysses if he is guilty or innocent. I will remember the joke that Kylie did! Which was HILARIOUS!:):):):) Mr. Katz did a great job I will always remember this day when I grow up. I had the time of my life!

  2. This trial was great. A few things that I would do to make it better would be to make it earlier. Or later. I don't know. Because if it was earlier, only my sister would be able to come. But, my dad was still a bit late. He works far. I would remember this trial because my older sister did this project when Mr. Katz was 32 which was 8 years ago. She was Penelope. Maybe even my younger siblings will do it if they go to St. Thomas. It was also fun with everyone there and in a costume. When I got home, since I was Hyperion and I find him guilty, me and my sister had a huge conversation. She was Penelope and found him innocent. She got me to think he was innocent. It was fun!!! Especially the food.😋🍷🍰

    1. I thought you really brought personality to your role. You stood out perfectly with your costume. Good job!

  3. I loved the trial. I think that was the best improv thing I've ever done in my entire life so far. I loved everything about it. I loved the costume my mom and I made. Keva kept saying that I looked like I was going through an emo faze. I was Morpheus and I loved that trail especially the setup. It was FUN and I hope we as a class can do it again before the end of the school year.

  4. I thought the trial was quite entertaining. However, one thing I would do to make it earlier that way I'm not rushing around the busy streets trying to get there on time. (I live so far away). Some suggestions tom improvement would be to the presenters, don't start repeating yourself if you get lost. It just doesn't sound professional and generally it gets boring after a while. Another thing would be to not rely on how well you can "improv" it when forgotten. Because the chances are, you'll end up saying "um", "like" or even incorrect information. The thing I'll remember most about the trial would probably be the elaborate costumes. Especially Peter's, I think everyone will remember the fact he put hangers through a hose. We all did amazing and with a little more work, anyone can win a court case.

  6. I loved the trial because it was so different from what the other teachers would do. I loved everybody's creativity for there costumes and their speeches. My favorite part was the voting at the end to see if he was guilty not not. I also liked the recess because of the food. There were so many different types of food. We could have improved on having more chairs because there were so many people. Also how many cups because we ran out very fast.

    2. I agree with the fact we did not have enough chairs.

    3. I am 100% with you Claudia I do agree about the chairs but most of all it was the cups.

  8. this trial was so much fun, and i was so nervous to speak in front of everybody, i was shaking. i had so much fun really getting into character and dressing up. it was so much fun to see everybody all costumed up. I don't think there is anything you could improve or next year, i mean the food was amazing and the decorations were on point! In my personal opinion Ulysses should have been guilty but i can agree that it was so much fun to present my case and and experience what it would be like to be in a actual court.I definitely hope that we do some more amazing projects like this one and i hope that i will have mr Katz again next year. except for when you embarrassed me during my presentation though ;). thx for reading

sorry my blog is late but i figured i would still do it. Unfortunately i had never been to a circus and it has always been a child hood dream to go but it is so expensive. i would really love to go to one of those old fashioned circuses where the tent is yellow and red and they sell peanuts and balloons. i cant say i'm exactly sad to see the circus go either because i can't stand the thought of mistreated animals god forbid that was not the case here, but sadly i wouldn't be surprised. Animals in the circus should want to be there just like you cant force a human to do something they don't want to do. thats slavery to animals, animals should be free and if un capable then they should be held in captivity or a zoo, somewhere where they would be treated kindly and correctly. Sadly we might never be able to stop animal abuse its just like coloured or different race slavery, its unnatural, cruel and should never EVER happen i wish i could stop animal cruelty, just like i wish i could find the cure for cancer, but its very hard to make everyone see through the same eyes that i do about this animal cruelty, but maybe 2017 has some great things in stalk for us and maybe its going to take our generation to solve this problem.

  9. I LOVED the trial it was super fun I really loved hearing every ones oral presentations and seeing the costumes. I normally get nervous in front of crowds but this one I was comfortable probably because my eyes were closed and I didn't see them. I'm always scared of people's reactions so if I don't see them I won't care this actually helped me speak in front of a crowd I'm not a scared as I used to be. I loved everything it was perfect. I wouldn't change anything it was so fun hanging out with Shaquicha and Tamy Linn and Tamy Lee. I got closer to my friends and my classmates. My favorite thing was to hangout with my best friends and learn about other people.

  10. I loved the trial. The one thing that I would change is the location. I could prefer to have had it in the cafeteria but I understand that it had to be moved. I really enjoyed that we weren't just presenting to a class but to parents and some very important school officials as well. What I will really remember is my costume. I made it myself and I think it looked amazing in the end. I will remember this event for a very long time after school is over.

  11. I have mixed feelings about the trial. I'm not really a fan of public speaking and I was nervous to go up there. I was also worried they were going to ask me a question I couldn't answer. I think it would have been better if it started a little later too. By the time my mom got home to feed us, we had to rush out the door to get to school on time. It was kind of like Halloween with costumes, but no candy. It wasn't all bad. I think everybody did a good job on there costumes. Matthieu Davies was particularly hilarious.

  12. I didn't like this project I loved it but the decoration could have been better and the set up and also the cups because there wasn't enough cups to be used. I will always remember the part where we al stayed after school to help and stuff though people were fouling around and not helping. Alla in all this whole idea for a project was so awsome. I wish we have something similar to what we did for the adventure of Ulysses's.

  13. I think that the trial was a great idea with good intentions but... i just don't really like presenting in front of people. the only reason why i wish there where more people would be because that's more votes. I get so nervous for presentations i'm not even kidding, before i went up to read i was actually shaking. Not even to mention that i wasn't able to answer zeus' (mr abracen's) question. Form the trial, i am going to remember my response the question.....Ummmm I think so I think that was a very fun project that will stand out from all the others and i will remember for all of high school.

  14. I loved the trial! It was my favourite project this year! The only things I didn't like were the questions they asked us and how late it was. I remember at one point (when I was about to go) I had a nervous breakdown. But no one noticed because it was more emotional than physical. I felt shaky and I thought I might've threw up. My favourite part was when I went! It was such a relief to feel that weight get lifted off my chest.

  15. If I’m going to be honest, it was interesting. There were some parts that I enjoyed but others not so much. When we were presenting I got a little nervous and I didn’t really know how to answer the “gods”. I wouldn’t improve anything much about the trial, but if I were to change anything it would probably be the decoration. I didn’t think there was enough decorations and it just ended up looking like the library with a few pictures here and there, and blue and white streamers. The one thing that I will definitely remember is the costumes, I found that to be a lot of fun.

  16. I really liked this project. My favorite part was when I could hear everyone's argument. It was fun to see what what others wrote about. I also REALLY liked everyone's costume. If we were to ever do something like this again I would suggest that we have more people voting because there were only like 5 people and I think it would have been better if we had more. The thing I will remember about this trial is how much fun it was.

  17. I really enjoyed this project in general, finding information was interesting, the trial itself was super fun as well! I thought the costumes for the most part were nice and you could tell that every one put time and effort into there costume and speech! Maybe next time, we should have a scheduled camera and not just hope someone filmed it, this way we could look over it and it would be easer for the teacher to correct because they can rewatch everyones speech. Some fun moments to remember are: When Kylie (Polyphemus) started her speech, she said "In my EYE, Ulysses is guilty. Also when Collin recited his speech he said "I did not know that Ulysses was dressed as a beggar, so I threw a chair at him." Overall, fun times!

  18. I loved this trial and so did my parents we all thought it is a fast easier and more fun way to do projects. I think the best part would have to be how I go to go first because I got to listen to everyone else's after without freaking out. Even though when you called me up I so wasn't ready. The think that I will remember is how this trial taught me never give up. How did this was because when we were writting our speeches I always felt like giving up because they bad. Then I thought I can't do the trial is going to be so fun every time.

  19. Honestly, I wouldn’t say I loved or hated this project, but it was definitely better than MSND. I think the book had some bad parts but was overall pretty good. The test was a little bit hard, but overall, I liked learning about Ulysses. The trial was fun, but I found it kind of long sitting there listening to everyone’s speeches. I was happy we got a break to have food at least! I can’t really say I didn’t like it, because I can’t think of any suggestions for next time. The thing I will remember most about the trial was when the kids were voting. It was so fun waiting to see their choices, if Ulysses was guilty or not.

    1. Your right about how long the sitting was we should've had 2 breaks instead of one, great blog tho

  20. Honestly I didn't hate this project but it was really really stressful for me because I was quitting IB which I thought would happen after break and it didn't happen so I was a bit unprepared for the project, but anyways the project was really nice in total and something that I didn't like was when Mr.Katz fooled around with the votes :)

  21. Unfortunately I was not present during the trial,I probably would have enjoyed seeing everybody in there costumes and witnessed the decision of the council, weather Ulysses was innocent or guilty. It would've been fun if I were present, because usually I thrive when I'm performing in front of an audience. Hopefully I will be present during the next oral presentation.

  22. I really liked this project. It was really fun setting up for it in the library, (playing music and dancing) and also preparing for the trial by reading the book, which I really enjoyed reading. It was pretty fun walking up on "trial" in my costume. I'm definitely going to remember dancing in that wig before I went on!

  23. The trial was amazing!! The preparation was fun we were non stop laughing. I will never forget Tammy Lee:) The actual trial went smooth I enjoyed it. If I had to change something it would probably be to have the jury system. They should have been in a different room. Some of the students were influenced by us yelling at them to be innocent and guilty. In a way the votes were rigged.

  24. I found that the trial was awesome! I liked when we were going through it and also when we were setting up the library with all the decorations. Also I though we all did very well on our speeches and that there weren't any awkward moments at all. Everything went well. But one of the best things that happened is that Ulysses was found innocent!
