Today, I will be writing about the hardship of being a leader. No, I am not talking about a leader of a country. I am simply speaking about being the leader of a project or a Battle of the Books team. (I am speaking about myself on that one). For example, I am the leader of my B.O.B. team. (If I do say so myself) and I think that other then some people, I was pulling everyone's weight. I mean this by saying that our team started with six people and the three that quit were the ones who I was pulling their weight. It is truly a stressful thing and in order to do so properly, you have to be the right person. You cannot be someone who is shy and afraid to express you feelings. You must be someone who can take charge when necessary and to help you teammates along the way. Being the leader is a role that I find myself falling into quite frequently when there is a problem or situation in which it evolves critical thinking and organization. It is not for everybody but I personally feel like that role is for me. I can stand tall and confident when needed to, yet I can also listen and respect other peoples opinions without showing that I disagree. Being the leader is hard, but I am always up for a challenge.
ReplyDeleteWow!! Free blog!! Time for me to be a little light. So let me talk about what's coming up next week, Winter Carnivla!! Some of the fun stuff I've heard happens in High School is this!! I don't mean this blog I mean Winter Carnival!! I know it is going to be fun that week, but I have no idea what to expect!! Wow!! Starting the week off with Monday being pyjama day!! It's gonna feel like I haven't even got out of my bed from the weekend!! I see they made Tuesday Nerd Day,I could see a lot of students fitting right in! Just kidding!:) Wednesday is dress up in summer gear day so now I have to go through the bottom of my drawers the back of my closet just to find something to wear! I realize no bathing suits allowed what kind of Summer is that!! Boo!! All in all this sounds like a whole bunch of fun! I'm sure all the organizers are working hard preparing all these activities. Friday,the day off is probably to give the organizers a break. Well done Saint. Thomas!

Its absolutely awful being short so many people make fun of me like can you hear me down there or sorry i thought you were an ant (these are comments i got from my family). they dont understand the feeling of being looked down on. every time im next to someone tall it gives me anxiety because if they fall on me i will be crumpled even if they are only 2 inches taller i freak out even chelsea can freak me out if shes on her tipie toes and dont get me started on people who are super tall like Grace, Davray, Rachel and many more they freak me out im like creepy little spider that you dont see coming another thing, SPIDERS give me so much anxiety but that a different story so mister katz can you please do another one of these blogs so that i can rant about something else. that would be very much appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThe first thing I want to rant about is how people crack their fingers!!! UHHHHH it is so disgusting!! It cracks and it sounds so gross like your bone just broke but it didn't. I think about bones breaking and it just seems so gross to think about it. EWWWW cracking your fingers are disgusting!!! Don't do it anymore!!
Another thing i'm going to rant about is when my parents come in to my room to say something quickly and they leave and don't close the door!!! Then I have to get off of my bed go to my door and close it then go back to my bed and try to get comfortable again but that only takes like 20 years!!! It was close when you came in so close it when you leave!!! UHHH this bugs me so much!!! #firstworldproblems
Finally alarm clocks. They are made to make an obnoxious sound to wake you up from heaven (which is also known as sleep) Then it reminds you that you have to get ready to go to school for the next 9 hours. Alarm clocks are just bad news!!

DeleteOk, so today ladies and gentlemen. I will be taking about........THE PC MASTER RACE CONTROVERSY. (Sie sie sie) As a lot of you know, "gaming" is usually preformed on either a "console" (Ps4 Xbox Wii etc) or a "PC" (No one really plays on mac) for some WILD reason, the PC players think they are superior in every way and people who use consoles are considered "peasants". i, preferably use my Ps4 for playing but occasionally use my brothers good PC. I think they are both great! Could people form a compromise? Live in harmony? Respect each others opinion? NOPE! The PC players think they are better because that have slightly better graphics (not with the new ps4 or xbox) and 60FPS (frames per second) instead of the usual FPS on console, 30FPS. I wish people would just live together and not fight about each others opinion.

Since this is a blog wee we can write about anything we'd like. I'd like to write about Hockey. I believe that Hockey is one of the best sports ever made. I love hockey so much because it involves having speed, stamina, and it also involves being clever and strategec. I've been playing hockey for 7 years and I am always ready to go in the ice.

DeleteFirst of all, heads up, I’m doing a rant. Well actually more like 3 rants. These rants are about all the annoying things about figure skating. You see, almost nobody will really ever experience the pains and hardships of being a figure skater, except for figure skaters.
ReplyDeleteLet’s take competitions, not tournaments as my brothers like to call them (damn you soccer!!). It takes A LOT of hard work!!! Practicing for the longest time possible, trying to land a jump/spin, and then the minute you get onto the ice...YOU FALL. And then you have to get up and act like you’re not mad. What sucks about this happening is that the day before when you were doing a practice you could’ve landed it perfectly, but then when you get onto the ice, the nerves just get to you, and you just mess up! When this does happen to me, I always get so mad and passive aggressive, because it physically and emotionally hurts when you don’t land a jump that you know you could’ve landed.
Something else that's really annoying is when you crack your ankles. Constantly. Sometimes I’ll be in the middle of a random class and then I’ll just have the urge to crack my ankles. I don’t even know how it became a habit for me, but it’s not just my ankles, but my back, neck, shoulders, and wrists.
Then there’s the practices. You have to go to practice EVERY weekend, and when people say their sport revolves around their life, they obviously haven’t been on a figure skater’s schedule. I get it, soccer is almost every day, but I do figure skating every weekend for 5 hours. Which in reality isn’t that much compared to soccer players, but like I said before, this is all during the weekend. Which means I have no time to do anything with my friends! And when I do have free time over the weekend, I either have to do homework, or I just want to relax and just have some time to myself.
So all in all, this blog was just complaining about all the things that happen when you’re a figure skater, but trust me, I love it! Yes, it can be tiring and annoying at times, but it’s something that I will never be able to let go of, no matter how old I get.
K so I didn't actually read your whole blog because it's long, and I can't relate to any of this figure skating stuff (lol) but I can imagine how it would suck to go to practices every weekend. But in the end, all the practices were worth it, because LOOK HOW GOOD OF A FIGURE SKATER YOU ARE!!
DeleteI agree about the cracking the ankles part. I may not do figure skating but in speed skating our skates are so tight I have the exact same urge to crack them. Great blog!
DeleteSo the thing I want to talk about today is the club I love the most that I always try to go to On Fridays. It is the Gender and sexual identity awareness(GSA) and because I am a pretty open person in the lgbtiq+ community I want to talk about this. so I really love it at Gsa and I found It helps so much with making me comfortable being around people who have gone through the same thing as me. There is this thing called coming out which all of our lgbtiq members have mostly done and it is so much easier to do it when you have friends that support you. there are three stages of coming out I like to call personal, with close friends and then social. the first is personal where you have to come to terms with yourself. the second is with close friends and it usually involves a bit of emotion on your side. and the third is when you permanently set the tone for who you are. These can go a lot faster when you have a community along side you. we also talk about different terms for people who are lgbtiq like intersex, non-binary, androgynous and more. Before I went to gsa I was pretty nervous in the school but now I'm truly a outgoing person who is lucky that he has a community of friends on his side.

DeleteOk, so I get like all these ideas for stories in my head randomly, and I’m like “oh this would be so fun to write about!”, but then people tell me to write about anything and I’m like “Umm, let me tell you a story about chocolate.”. I can’t just write a random story or blog about anything. So today, I’m writing about how I’m dumb and I can’t think of anything to say, so if you actually got this far into my blog, CONGRATS! Maybe next week I’ll magically become smart and be able to write about something. (Or not…)

DeleteAlthough I love to rant but today I'm going to do my free blog on nervousness, so on Monday I have a track meet and I'm super nervous, I get so nervous that sometimes I can't even cope with myself. The part that bothers me the most is that sometimes I have no reason to be nervous. I've always been that way, I get so nervous and worried all the time, but especially sport events. Like a day before a race all that's going through my head is what if, what if and some times I'm not capable of running my best because I'm hyperventalating. For instance cross country provincial championship I did not do as good as I would of liked, because I was so nervous, other situations the nervousness makes me feel the adrenalin which makes me faster. I really don't know what I'm going to do. I have a meet coming up this Monday, so I will be missing school ;) but I'm soooo nervous, I just want to feel relaxed.

Today I'm going my rant to be about being sick. If anyone noticed, I wasn't here on Friday, because I was pretty sick. I didn't sleep all night, because I was shaking. I didn't know why, until 4 o clock when I threw up. I ended up changing my bed sheets and covers and i finally fell asleep at 5. I was so tired I woke up at 11, because my parents didn't wake me up. I ended up sleeping all day and I missed a hockey game, which really sucked. So that was how I spent my Friday.

DeleteToday everybody was ranting about what is better, Star Wars or Star Trek. I like Star Trek and all, but I would prefer Star wars over Star Trek by a long shot. Not only do they have laser guns, like in Star Trek, but they also have laser swords that are also know as light sabers and some magic called the force. They give use a variety of ships and planets too. They also give us planet-ships (the Death Star). Star Trek, most of it happens in the Milky Way in the future, but Star Wars gives us a completely different galaxy that we can explore, and it's in the past.
ReplyDeleteFun Fact: Did you know the planet Tatooine in Star Wars was named after the desert Tataouine, which is in Tunisia, Africa. That is why they made Tatooine a desert planet.
P.S., Star Trek doesn't have Darth Vader, so that means that Star Trek is not awesome and Star Wars is.

ReplyDeleteI was born on the planet of Naboo, about six months after Senator Amidala died. Obi-Wan was in hiding when he heard of me. He travelled from Tatooine to Naboo to find me when I was just a year and a half old. I started training right away. Unfortunately, it wasn't safe for me on Naboo or on Tatooine, so we fled to the rebel base on both. When I was 13, I was declared a Jedi Padawan. I was very young for a Jedi Padawan so I needed extra assistance from my master, Obi-Wan. When I was 15, My master fled to Tatooine in search of Luke Skywalker. Three years later, my master died in a lightsaber duel against the Sith lord, Darth Vader. I was then pronounced a Jedi knight. I spent my days hiding with the rebellion. I wielded the lightsaber of the great Shaak Ti. I spent the next few years on Endor, living with the Ewoks. It was the safest place for me as a Jedi. Soon Darth Vader's grandson, Kylo Ren, had created the first order. I had to seek Maz Kanata for help. She told me that there was no longer anywhere safe for me to go. I finally did the last thing I would do, I went to see Rey and warn her. I was killed by the knights of Ren and to this day, I am just a force ghost.

I saw a lot of people ranting about what is better. Star Wars or Star Trek. And my answer is... Star Wars. I love Star Wars. Some people might say it is nerdy and all that, but I find it interesting. If I was on a game show and the theme was Star Wars, then I would fail. I do not really have a lot of knowledge about Star Wars. I mainly find the movies interesting. All the action and some sci-fi makes a movie very interesting.

I think they are extremely fun to do because it has to be 60 words or more and all of us in this class usually do inbetween 80 and 160. It's amazing how much we've evolved in our writing since the blogs started. It went from 60 to 70 words, to 80 to 160 words. I hope we never stop doing these blogs because it doesen't take long to do. Thankyou Mr.Katz for giving us this homework (I can't believe I just said thankyou for giving us homework) so we can develope in our writing for all subjects. DeleteI am going to talk about basketball. I will like to start off with the fact that everybody says its a non contact sport.It kills me!!!! They should go play basketball!!I had a game to day and i don't know how many times they pushed me, elbowed me and I almost broke my finger!It bent so backwards i don't think its normal! If people think its a non contact sport then you're stupid! Second of all, its really stressful. I'm not talking about the score or whatever, I'm talking about playing really well and when you're in intercity its really stressful because my coach Mr.bob gets mad at use. Even when you did the right thing, you're teammates mess up then you still get screamed at! I am enjoying it less and less each day which is really bad!!

ReplyDeleteYes, I am about to tell you about movie filming locations like John Abbott or Castle Loma. Did you know that the mansion in X-Men is actually a castle called Castle Loma? It is in Toronto. Auschwitz in the movie X-Men Apocalypse was filmed at John Abbott. A lot more movies are being filmed in Canada because of money reasons like it costs less to make a movie in Canada that the United States of America. The reason in general is that the exchange rate between Canadian money and American money is very much to the advantage of the Americans because it costs them less money to produce things like films in Canada than in the U.S. Due to these low costs, Canadians are getting a lot of experience in the movie industry which means that they are producing quality work that the Americans want. We are basically training specialists here. A lot of Canadian locations can be passed off as European, like Old Montreal which can look like Paris. I hope more movies get made here and I would love to pass by a shoot and meet the actors!!!
What I am going to talk about for this blog is my future trip to Mexico! I am leaving on March 7 to the 14. So I am going to only miss two days of school. My dad, my mom and I are going and we are staying at the Allegro Playacar. What I am planning to do there is to swim a lot especially on the beach but also in the pool. Also to eat and have the best time with my family!
ReplyDeleteMy topic is going to be how I've been late for the last couple of blogs. I haven't done the last few blogs in time because I've been very busy all week. This friday, I went to the hospital because my friend broke their foot. I couldn't do the blog in time on Wednesday because I had piano classes and I went over to my friends house for supper(my parents decision). I think that the blogs are too frequent and shouldn't have a deadline. Kids will lose marks for every day not done, instead automatically failing if they do a blog late. With all the other projects and tests we have to study for, I think blogs are just making it too crammed. They are fun…but still.
ReplyDeleteTime to rant... I get Super frustrated when people try to convince vegetarians to eat meat. Its extremely disrespectful and rude to force someone to do something that they don't feel comfortable doing. It drives me insane when people say things like "Ripping an arm of an animal is the same as picking an apple from a tree", "Would you eat meat for one billion dollars?"
